He has a face only a mother could love. Ray Quinn begins his conquest of the North at the Manchester Apollo tonight .

The squeaky clean Liverpudlian scamp gained an ample following amongst grandmothers and the partially deaf after coming runner up in X-Factor 2006.

Tickets are a mere, a piffling £23. Considering that you could have seen Ian Brown, Tool and the reformed Wu-Tang Clan for a similar price, the Apollo staff must be rolling in the aisles, rubbing their hands, and conducting a number of other cliched activities.

Fans may be disappointed, however, as the be-quiffed 18-year old only managed five full songs (swing classics of the Robbie Williams variety) at his recent homecoming gig in Liverpool.

Warning: potential concert-goers will have to ignore Ray's alarming resemblance to Chucky, the muderous doll-child from 1988's "Child's Play".

Now if Chucky did a concert of Robbie style swing songs, I would definitely pay 23 quid to see it....

There could be a whole series: Jason sings the blues, Freddie Kruger and his Nightmare hip hop crew, Hannibal the funky Cannibal, the possibilities are endless.......
